CONSTELLATION - Part 2
May 2018
In part two of this project we transferred the individual constellations ontop a shared sheet of wood using hammers, nails and string. This resulted in a collaborative night sky scape.
Outcomes:
- We allowed people to use tools, who wouldn't usally be allowed to which created a sense trust, built confidence and helped people to feel capable.
- Taught new skills.
- Connected people to each other.
- Engaged people in art - who wouldn't usually consider themselves creative.
"I enjoyed making the constellations because we were trusted with the tools"
"I was happy that we were doing art because we never do it. It was an amazing day"
"It made my day better!"

CONSTELLATION - Part 1
May 2018
We worked with groups with the aim to create a collaborative art piece which explored identity through various processes.
We started with an excerise in collage, asking participants to select images that related to themselves. From the piece they made they then identified 5 key points which they used to design their personalised constallation.
Outcomes:
- Brought people together, and engaged them in a creative acitivity.
- Encouraged conversation, particulalrly around idenity and how we interlink.
- Helped build relationships between groups members.
"I enjoyed the session it brought back lots of memories."
"I felt this workshop was quite productive, creative and useful for speaking out about worrying things."
"I am really pleased with my artwork because I
know what it is and it is really special to me."

WALK AND CHALK
January 2019
We wanted to explore the idea of using art to engage people in conversation. We recognised that having an external object or action created a way of making talking to a stranger accessible. We used the length of the bridge to give a clear understanding of what was being asked of them: The idea being that members of the public would walk with us whilst holding a stick with a piece of chalk on, which marked our jounrney together.
Outcomes:
- Public enagement
- Normalised conversation between strangers
- Created momentory connections
- Created an anadvertant collaobartive art piece.
- Evoked a sense of temporance.
"it was fantastic to see the curiosity of members of the public becoming a process led, collaborative artwork. The strangeness of the action allowed this curiosity to grow in to conversations which made the work."

FAMILY PICTURE TRAIL
June 2020
Because we walked the same walks every day for months on end, we became unobservent, unconnect and desensitised to our surroundings - we wanted to change this.
We picked a trail and took photos along the way which captured the surroundings in ways that we had not seen before - such as close ups, bug view, misplaced items etc. We then invited familes to follow the trail indentifying the location of the photos.
Outcomes:
- Made people look more closely at their daily environment, in new ways.
- Created magic from the mundane
- Encouraged excerise and family activity
"We saw a lesser spotted stapler in the woods"
"Thank-you so much! the boys had an amazing time. They were super impressed with all the effort you went to"
"This has been lush, exploring a place we've been to a million times in a different way. Don't think we could have coped with lockdown with you"

MAKE THINGS HAPPEN
July 2020
This sculpture was made from 16 letters, each one made by a different person, coming together to give a collective message.
The sculpture resided on the grounds of Bath Spa, in an area that was used and seen by both students and public. It was a call to action: offering the idea that art can be used to change our world.
Outcomes:
- Creative focus for those involved in the making.
- Created community and connections through collaboration.
- Created public engagement.
- Challenged ideas of what art is and how it could used.
- Generated more creative collaborative projects.

LITTLE LIBRARY
August 2020
With libraries and shops closed, and a decomisioned phone box sitting empty, it seemed the opportune moment to fill it with books for the community to borrow, swap or take.
Outcomes:
- Encouraged and promoted reusing, rather than buying new.
- Created a sense of commuinity ownership and stewardship.
- Encouraged people to consider what is possible in spaces in their community.
- Offered an easy template for others to take up and develop, which has lead to the idea expanding from more than just books.
"Walked past the telephone library box earlier. Good to see it being used so well, I've wanted a little free library box at the end of my drive for years."
"it's things like this that remind us that we CAN start to shape the communities we live in, by positive actions"

IT'S OK TO...
September 2020
It's the middle of a pandemic. The world has frozen. We miss seeing art. we're tired of our sofas. We're not ok....
A quick trip to B&Q for inspiration and 50 texts later, we decided the simple message of "it's ok to..." needed to be shared.
Studios and galleries could not let us in. We'd had enough of virtual reality, so it was time to take to the streets. (ok, the woods).
Outcomes:
- Shared a simple message.
- Encouraged people to engage with their environment in new ways.
- Achieved something when nothing was happening.
- Challenged people's idea of what was right or wrong to feel at this time.
"It's ok to...
doubt
quit
disagree
say no
feel
relax
pause
wait
enjoy
nap
spin
cry
shout
scream
be angry
debate
sing
be undecided
be passionate
be morally compromised"

DINNER PARTY IN THE WOODS
September 2020
We were living in a time of resitrictions, and many of us were spending more time online and less time with people.
We felt that we were conversing less, and were struggling with the lack of social situations.
We could only meet outside at this point, so we decided to work with the restriction to create an event that was safe and stimulating.
We gathered together people who did not know each other to a dinner party in the woods; complete with scavenger hunts and question prompts.
Outcomes:
- Connected people.
- Facilitated conversation.
- Created a sense of magic and fun.
- Created a safe space for people to meet.
- Used surplus food to create a "meal".
- Combated isolation.
"Thank you so much for inviting me to your amazing dinner party, it was absolutely amazing. I just wanted to thank you for one of the happiest memories of my life. Such an amazing evening."

THE MORNING AFTER
September 2020
The night after our dinner party in the woods we decided to mark the occasion by leaving our chairs in the space we occupied the night before. Labelling each chair with a conversation starter from the dinner party it provided the public an oppitunity to enagage with one another.
Outcome:
- Created a sense of intrigue.
- Publicised our project for future participation.
- Encouraged conversation.
"Do you think there are aliens on other planets?
Who would win in a flight a robot or a dinosaur?
What is your plan if there is a zombie apocalypse?
What’s the best Halloween costume you’ve ever had?
Worst birthday gift ever received?
Is cereal a soup?
What is the sexiest and least sexiest name
What secret conspiracy would you like to start?
What is the most ridiculous fact you know?
What is something that everyone looks stupid doing?
In 40 years what will people be nostalgic for?
How do you feel about putting pineapple on pizza
What kind of secret society would you start?
If animals could talk, which would be the rudest?
Toilet paper: over or under?
What’s the strangest places you’ve ever urinated?
In one sentence how would you sum up the internet?
How many chickens would it take to kill an elephant?
Which body part do you wish you could detach and why?
What is the weirdest thing a guest has done at your house?
What innominate object would you like to eliminate from existence?
What is the weirdest thing you have seen in someone else’s home?
If peanut butter wasn’t called peanut butter what would it be called?
What would be the buy one get one free sale of all time?
If life were a video game, what would some of the cheat codes be?
What would be the coolest animal to scale up to the size of a horse?
What two totally normal things become really weird you do them back to back?
What are some fun alternatives to war that countries could settle their differences with?
If you were held at gun point and told that if you didn’t impress them with your dance moves you would be killed, what moves would you bust out?
Which of the seven dwarfs is most like you?
Who’s mind would you most like to read?
What’s the worst advice you’ve ever taken?
If you had the attention of the worl for just 10 seconds what would you say?
What is the funniest thing you believed when you were younger?
What did you last google?"

SALE TRAIL
September 2020
We facilitated a Yate wide sale trail. This was held on a specific day where lots of people in the area all had stalls selling things - from outside their homes; in their gardens, backs of cars, driveways, doorsteps, garages. etc
Outcomes:
- Helped people to get rid of their unwanted items.
- Saved things from going to landfill.
- Helped people make some money.
- Helped people save money by buying second hand.
- Helped support local business people (makers, artists etc).
- Gave an opportunity for neighbours to meet.
- Got us all out and about, walking.
- Provided something new to do to break up the week during lockdowns.
- Created a coherent event which was ran by the community for the community.
"Thank you for the invitation to come along to the Hub, it was a really positive morning and good to have the opportunity to get the books out to children and families and being closed for so long."
"It was really good! Lots of stuff was taken which made for lots of happy faces! "

82 WAYS TO BE AN ARTIST
October 2020
What is art?
Who gets to be an artist?
We put up 82 (relativly obscure) prompts along an underpass, with a removeable slip to take away.
This work was put up during the pandemic.
Outcomes:
- Got people to rethink what art can be.
- Provided promots to encourage people to create in new ways.
- Normalise silliness in art.
- Inspired people in a time of restrictions.
- Saw how people reacted and interacted to public art.

HUB CAP FLOWERS
May 2021
We mobilised a community to collectively brighten their neighbourhood by creating giant hub cap flowers on their lamposts.
Outcomes:
- Brightened a street, and created a sense of joy and curiosity.
- Gave people a sense of purpose and achievement through particpation.
- Reused materials that would otherwise have been landfill
- provided a multi-generational art project that was accessible to all (including those in isolation).
- connected peope in the community and reduced loneliness.
- empowered people to feel able to make a positive impact to their enviroment.
"Certainly brightend up the doggy walk this evening"
"They look so good, makes a change from the usual boring walk"

BUS STOP GALLERY
June 2021
Using artwork from local residents, we turned a bus stop into a pop up gallery.
Outcomes;
- Promoted creativity for all
- Instilled a sense of pride and achievement for those who had their art-work displayed
- Created a unique, unexpected and inspiring environment.
- Acknowledging the importance of the day to day environment we live in, we changed a damaged, dirty aspect of the community into something that showed a sense of care and pride in the community.
- Provided an opportunity to reflect on how we were feeling (the theme being how I see the world) both for the artists but also for those who viewed the work.
- Enabled and encouraged conversation around the theme and creating art.
- Provided a way to engage with new people.
- Creating a project which allowed people to be involved with and feel a part of something within their community.
- Multigenerational: brought people from different ages, and background together to work towards a common goal.
“Went to see it Sunday, love it! So nice to see other’s people art work as well as mine and my daughters on display. Nice to celebrate local talent and brighten up our town!!”

SOUTH GLOS BEE TRAIL
July 2021
We took part in the South Glos Bee Trail http://sites.southglos.gov.uk/newsroom/community/bee-a-winner-on-the-south-gloucestershire-high-street-trail/ and created a community collage on "Flora" our bee. We included many of the local groups, schools, and residents in achieving this outcome.
